DESCRIPTION: Walter H. Durfee, Providence R.I., "Lyre" wall clock in the classic style of John Sawin with 8-day time only weight driven Waltham movement stamped "5828" and "W.D." (on the top edge) with quality dead beat movement, maintaining power and Geneva stop works in carved mahogany case with reverse painted panel and painted metal dial signed "W. C. HENRY MAY 1911", c1911
CONDITION: the case has original untouched finish, . The reverse painted panel and dial have some flaking. A very good original clock. For a similar example please see "Horology Americana" page 91 and another sold at Carl W. Stinson Inc.'s auction of July 2009 for over $14,000 . Ht 36"
